i think i have forest spores growing inside me
A series of paintings started while cut off due to flooding after cyclone jasper. The depths of shadows, the filtered dappled light up here in the rainforest, the humidity, the sense of everything growing all at once on everything, spores and the lichen/moss/mould/fungus, the noise of the forest/cicadas/crickets/frogs/rain/ water, the inner world, the inter connections, the way the heat/menopause/migraines effect my vision, the fun of painting canvases for the first time in years… Being up here under the canopy of the forest you become aware that you and your environment become entangled, there are no edges, on a microscopic level parts of me become parts of the forest and parts of the forest become part of me. We are part of the ecosystem .
